Dresden.

When an A380 landed in Dresden in November 2023, it attracted many interested people to the airport. So early in the morning that it was actually more like night, the first people queued for one of the 50 coveted tickets so that they could stand as close as possible to the runway when the giant plane arrived.

An A380 is due to land in Dresden again this Friday, according to airport spokesman Uwe Schuhart. This time, however, the curious will not have to get up quite so early: Last time, the plane landed before nine o'clock in the morning. On Friday, the largest passenger aircraft is currently scheduled to arrive at 3.15 pm.

From the airport, the plane will then continue on to Elbe Flugzeugwerke. It became known about a week ago that Flugzeugwerke would once again be allowed to maintain one of the double-decker aircraft with a wingspan of almost 80 meters.

Over the next three months, Flugzeugwerke intends to technically prepare the Airbus with the registration 9H-GLOBL for commercial service. To this end, the company has signed a contract with new customer Global Airlines. Elbe Flugzeugwerke is one of the few companies in the world with experience in the maintenance and repair of large passenger aircraft.
