The Ilzhöfer Palettenservice GmbH wants to expand its headquarters in the Kodersdorf industrial estate and is planning to build several new warehouses and two office buildings. An office container with façade cladding is also to be erected. The Kodersdorf municipal council approves the construction project.
A planning application from the pallet company was already on the table for the May meeting of the municipal council. It concerns the construction of a total of six new warehouses. They are each equipped with a social wing inside and are heated by a power plant based on wood chips. The halls will be used to store pallets and will also be rented out.
Fire department stays out of it
Another application from the company was submitted to the councillors a week ago on Monday. This concerns the construction of a warehouse, two office buildings and an office container. This was also approved. However, these new buildings will further increase the sealing of the company premises. This raises the question: Where to put the rainwater without causing flooding? The local authority sees this as the biggest problem with the expansion of the business.
The rainwater is to be collected in a rainwater retention basin. The municipality requires proof of rainwater retention, according to the municipal council. The local fire department does not wish to make a statement regarding the supply of extinguishing water. The Office for Fire Protection, Disaster Control and Rescue Services is to take over and issue a statement. The company itself does not wish to comment on the construction project to the SZ, according to the management.
Ilzhöfer Palettenservice GmbH was founded in Untermünkheim (north of Schwäbisch Hall) in December 1998. The company deals with the trade, production and rental of pallets, pallet cages, special load carriers and containers, as well as the rental of real estate. In 2014, the company moved its headquarters to Kodersdorf and Untermünkheim became a branch office.
