From Heike Sabel
Four months after the insolvency proceedings were filed for the Eissmann companies, the first cautiously optimistic news has emerged - at least for the Pirna site. Seriously interested investors have submitted initial non-binding offers, according to insolvency administrator Holger Leichtle. He has now been confirmed by the creditors' meeting. However, it will still be a few weeks before the proceedings are concluded. The aim is to preserve the group of companies as a whole if possible.
Insolvency proceedings were filed for the Eissmann companies based in Germany at the end of February 2024 and opened on May 1. The Group's companies abroad are not affected. One Nuremberg company has already been sold by way of a transferring restructuring and all jobs have been saved.
The 285 employees in Pirna will continue to produce and there have been no redundancies so far, says insolvency proceedings spokesman Thomas Schulz. There are 405 employees at the Gera site and 258 at the Bad Urach headquarters. In addition to the almost 1,000 employees in Germany, there are around 4,000 in England, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Mexico, America and China.
Saved for the first time three years ago
The Pirna site was purchased in 2021 after the previous KTSN here went bankrupt. In 2020, it was one of three major automotive suppliers in the region that suffered from the consequences of the automotive crisis and coronavirus. Druckguss Dohna had already been hit for the second time. This time, it was not rescued. The company was officially dissolved at the end of last year.
After failed attempts, there is now good news for Veritas in Neustadt and Polenz near Neustadt. The Neustadt site has been saved, and a solution for Polenz is to be found in the next few weeks.
The Eissmann Group Automotive was founded in 1964, 60 years ago, and supplies German and international car manufacturers with various vehicle interior components and concepts "from a single source", as they say.
