Leipzig. How can you move into the future without giving up your own tradition? Who will continue to run small and medium-sized companies when the founders go into well-deserved retirement? With the Saxon milestone companies are honored that have successfully answered this very question for themselves. In Leipzig and the surrounding area. As part of a networking event on the topic of succession, the Guarantee Bank of Saxony (BBS) has now announced which companies from the Leipzig region have reached the final round and can continue to hope for an award with the Saxon Milestone and prize money of up to 5,000 euros per competition category until the award ceremony on October 1. These include the Elektro Panzer GmbH from Leipzig, the ProSoft Krippner GmbH from Delitzsch and the Glanzpunkt GmbH & Co. KG from Rötha. Each of the three companies from the Leipzig region stands for drive, innovative spirit and entrepreneurship in the best sense of the word.
Making success stories visible
Bürgschaftsbank Sachsen awards the prize in the categories of family-internal, company-internal or company-external succession. There is also a special jury prize. The milestones are being awarded for the 9th time. "Every single nomination for the Saxon Milestone stands for a successful succession plan. The nominated successors already deserve my respect for their courage in taking on entrepreneurial responsibility and their willingness to actively shape the future of the Saxon economy," said Martin Dulig, Saxon Minister of Economic Affairs and patron of the "Milestones". The award makes "examples of success visible and thus motivates all those who are themselves facing the challenge of handing over their company in the coming years or are interested in a takeover."
Across Saxony, 51 companies applied for the Saxon Milestone in 2024. All applications received were initially evaluated by a project group of the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTW) under the direction of Prof. Dr. Torsten Gonschorek. The focus was on evaluation criteria such as the development of employee and sales figures since the takeover, the future viability of the business model and the handling of challenges in the succession process. The examples from Leipzig and the surrounding area have already scored well in this respect. (WiS)
